Is HEAT SEEKER: A GUN HONEY SERIES #4 Good?
Yep, you read that description correctly – a nudist colony. If nothing else, you have to hand it to Charles Ardai for giving readers what they want in HEAT SEEKER: A GUN HONEY SERIES #4 – guns, thrills, and beautiful (regularly naked) people.
When last we left Dahlia, she was cornered by the agents sent to apprehend or kill her, including the one agent seemingly two steps ahead at every turn – Sarah Claride. In the mother of all shock twists, we learned Claride and Dahlia were secretly working together the whole time. Now, Cesar’s sister, Tala, mistakenly gets in the middle of Claride’s “torture” session to land herself in Agent Gorman’s clutches. The race is on to save Tala and stop Gorman from using Tala as leverage to smoke out Brook and Tan.
If the description didn’t make it clear, this issue is very NSFW for full frontal nudity; male and female. You don’t see anybody’s private bits doing anything more than just hanging out, but if you have a personal aversion to nudity in comics, you’ve been warned.
What’s great about HEAT SEEKER: A GUN HONEY SERIES #4? Ardai knows what his readers want and gives it to them, an oddly rare approach to comics among the larger publishers these days. You get action, death, car chases, nudity, spicy kisses, and clever plot twists.
What’s not so great about HEAT SEEKER: A GUN HONEY SERIES #4? We’re not prudes, but seeing an entire nudist colony take up arms looked, in fairness, looked a little silly. We get it. Readers like to see those jiggly bits, but still… silly.
How’s the art? Excellent. Continuado and Zapata match Ardai’s script to breathe life into every panel. The action is fierce, the perspectives are dramatic, and the characters are rendered with a cool slickness that gets you into the atmosphere of Ardai’s smoky story.

Check out our HEAT SEEKER: A GUN HONEY SERIES #3 review to see the mother of all plot twists.
We begin with Claride finishing her private “torture” session on Dahlia while Gorman waits outside. Tala arrives unexpectedly. Gorman knocks her out to take her as bait, and Claride is forced to play along to maintain her cover. Dahlia launches a smoke grenade from the shadows to disguise the fact she’s still alive, but Gorman gets away.
Later, Dahli and Cesar race to the Mexican commune where Tand and Brook are hiding out. If Dahlia can beat Gorman to the resort, she can protect Tan and Brook while helping the commune patrons (nudists!) defend themselves.
We conclude the issue with a gunshot, a standoff, and a massacre.
