Is BLADE RUNNER 2039 #10 Good?
In issue #9, Ash found herself in a trap set by Rash, leading to Rash’s capture by Ash’s allies. The interrogation revealed Niander Wallace’s relentless pursuit of Isobel Selwyn, believing she holds the key to replicant fertility. With no options left, Ash decides the only way to end the hunt is to take down Niander Wallace. The cliffhanger leaves us with Ash seeking help from the first Blade Runner, Cal Moreau.
In Blade Runner 2039 #10, the spotlight is on Rash. Ash seeks Cal Moreau’s assistance, revealing a history that is more complex than it seems. Luv, using familiar Blade Runner technology, discovers Ash’s involvement in her capture. Meanwhile, Rash, having a conversation with Isobel Selwyn, breaks free and surprisingly offers to join Ash’s cause. Luv, tracks down Rash, leads to a final confrontation with unexpected twists, setting the stage for the next issue.
What We Liked About Blade Runner 2039 #10:
The major selling points are the twists and surprises in this Rash-centric issue. While Ash and Cal’s conversation hints at a history, the real depth lies in Rash’s internal conflict and unexpected offer. The issue’s conclusion leaves readers eager to unravel the unfolding story, especially with the unexpected turn of events involving Luv.
What We Didn’t Like About Blade Runner 2039 #10:
Not much to criticize here; the overall narrative is solid. However, a bit more exploration into the history between Ash and Cal could have added depth to the storyline. Despite this, the issue successfully sets the stage for the impending confrontation with Niander Wallace.
Art Quality:
Andres Guinaldo and Marco Lesko’s collaboration on art deserves praise. The intricate details in facial expressions, capturing shock, surprise, fear, and determination, enhance the character interactions. The reliance on facial acting elevates the emotional impact, making up for a relatively straightforward plot. Kudos to Guinaldo and Lesko for their exceptional work.
