Is GUMAA: THE BEGINNING OF HER #5 Good?
In issue number four, we jump forward in time to a world where people are becoming possessed by demonic energy, turning into a ravenous undead horde called the Magi. Khalida, now the holy mother in charge of the Luciel cult, is able to cure them. Meanwhile, Brenna, now grown up and an assassin, forms an alliance with Detective Ken, who suspects something suspicious about Khalida’s powers. Detective Ken refuses to stop investigating, leading him to quit his job.
In issue number five, Detective Ken continues his research on occult artifacts, despite pressure to stop investigating Khalida. Meanwhile, Khalida orders Manuel to find out what the detective is up to, as she searches for a particular mystical artifact. Brenna, injured from a fight with Khalida’s exorcists, is confronted by Manuel, hinting at their past relationship. The tension escalates as Kheda learns of potential collaboration between Brenna and Manuel.
The mystery surrounding Kheda’s intentions deepens, as does the urgency for Brenna and Manuel to evade capture. The search for a mystical artifact adds another layer of intrigue to the story.
