Is EVIL LIVES (OMNIBUS) Good?
Fans of Second Sight Publishing, rejoice! The EVIL LIVES (OMNIBUS) combines the best of the best from Second Sight’s collection of horror mini-series and one-shots to tickle your gore bone.
The omnibus brings together Second Sight’s best works, including the story of a serial killing Ice Crem mana who adds a special ingredient to his frozen treats, a psycho killer whose prison execution is just the start of his killing spree, and a gaggle of kids who turn into murderous monsters.
The beauty of Second Sight’s omnibus is the pristine collection format for each of the stories. Bradley Golden put obvious care and attention into making each work fit beautifully into the collection. But be forewarned, most of these stories are gory and gross (by design), so squeamish readers need not apply.
What’s great about EVIL LIVES (OMNIBUS)? If you’re a fan of Second Sight’s best stories, including Cold-Blooded and These Damn Kids!, you’re in for a treat. Grim, gruesome carnage practically drips (heh) from every page.
What’s not so great about EVIL LIVES (OMNIBUS)? Admittedly, Second Sight stories tend to favor shock over top-tier storytelling. The flaws noted with the individual stories we’ve reviewed on this site are still evident, primarily in the dialog.
How’s the art? The art may be up and down, but the art is consistently good on the whole. There are too many contributing artists to give individual critiques or praise, but just know that the visuals are solid.

EVIL LIVES (OMNIBUS) collects the most horrific (in a good way) stories from Second Sight’s lexicon of gore-filled terror. If you’re a fan of B&W splatter comics, this omnibus is a worthy addition to your collection.
