Was It Good?
Wow! Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow!
You got me, Sniegoski. You got me, Acheson! You got me good!
If you’ve been following this series, you know it’s the latest attempt by Dynamite to dip their collective toes into the concept of a multiverse with one of their flagship characters. The story tracked the idea of a God who writes the destiny of every Vampirella throughout the universe to hold the fabric of reality together. This issue marks the end of the arc with a climactic battle that not only resolves the story with an ending you don’t realize is happening until it happens, but even if you’ve got a Grinch-sized heart, you’re going to get sucker-punched right in the heartstrings.
We’re talking about ugly man tears like somebody started chopping a dozen onions right under your chin. No spoilers in this section, but if you want to know some of the tear-jerking details, read through to the next section.
I’m being intentionally vague but know that this issue slam dunks the writing in two key areas. It surprises you and it makes you feel. That’s it, but that’s more than enough. Regardless of what you thought about the series up to this point, know that this issue is a lightning strike to your soul.
Buy it. Read it. Revel in it.

What’s It About?
[SPOILERS AHEAD – Click here if you just want the score without spoilers]
This issue’s climactic battle begins in the library. If you’re not sure how everyone got there, first read our VAMPIVERSE #5 review.
We begin with a hospice scene depicting an elderly woman, glimpsed sporadically throughout the series, as her final moments on Earth approach. It’s inferred this woman either is or knows the Artist.
In the Library, the grand battle has begun as Vampirella faces off against the over-powered Bloodwing to protect the Artist from Bloodwing’s wrath. Shortly after the lopsided fight begins, Futurella arrives with an army of every remaining Vampirella from across the multiverse (and everyone from Dynamite’s variant covers for this series). As the battle wages, the elderly woman draws her last breath.
Fighting one-on-one, Bloodwing forces Vampirella back through the door to the Library’s inner sanctum. There, the elderly woman is waiting. She introduces herself as Trina Robbins, the real-life artist who helped create Vampirella. She explains she’s accepted her passing and has come to take Bloodwing home to be at peace. This issue and the entire series are a gift of appreciation and thanks to the woman who made Vampirella possible.
We conclude the issue with acceptance, appreciation, and tears. Damn you, Sniegoski & Acheson!

Final Thoughts
VAMPIVERSE #6 is a gut-punch of spectacle and emotion. When the Artist’s identity is revealed, the true nature of this series comes into focus as something infinitely more important than an adventure through the multiverse. It’s a love letter to a very special person, and that makes all the difference in the world.
