Is VAMPIRELLA/DRACULA: RAGE #6 Good?
In the previous issue, we saw Dracula’s duplicitous plan unfold. He manipulated Victory into joining him to save Vampirella. Vampirella, seeking revenge for the death of her child, went on a mission to kill the cult members responsible. However, it was all orchestrated by Dracula, tipping off the cult to take action, ultimately leading to the death of her child. Dracula’s plan was to take some of Vampirella’s blood and use Victory’s ring to open a portal to Drakulon.
In “Vampirella/Dracula: Rage #6,” Vampirella teams up with Victory to hunt down Dracula on Drakulon. The story kicks off with a prologue where we see Vampirella and Victory riding on horses, heading to a Drakulonian outpost to question the locals about Dracula’s whereabouts. They encounter resistance from the locals, who are intimidated by Vampirella due to her lineage. Lilith, the Black Queen, still has a negative influence over the planet. A little girl, who turns out to be a supernatural spirit, offers to help them find Dracula.
We then jump back a few days earlier in Stockholm, catching up with Vampirella and Victory at the Gateway. After a fight, Vampirella is zapped to a snowy, icy location in the Arctic or the North Pole. Victory convinces her that Dracula was behind everything. Back to the present on Drakulon, the little girl leads Vampirella and Victory to a square where they witness Dracula using his cello music to entrance the population. Vampirella charges at Dracula, breaking the music, causing the crowd to attack. Victory conjures a portal, and they escape to an underground cavern, meeting a character known from the “Interstellar” storyline. A fight ensues, and they manage to subdue the character, Shane, but he starts conjuring magical spells. Vampirella knocks him back through an open door portal, and they decide to pursue Dracula.

What did we like about VAMPIRELLA/DRACULA: RAGE #6?
There are lots of twists and turns, including interesting developments that tie into the main Vampirella title. The revelation about Dracula’s manipulation adds depth to the story and sets the stage for future events. The surprise twist at the end, although heavy, is a significant development in the Vampirella canon.
What didn’t we like about VAMPIRELLA/DRACULA: RAGE #6?
This issue unnecessarily complicates the story, making it more convoluted than needed. The events in this miniseries could have been seamlessly integrated into the main Vampirella series. Also, the alignment of characters with the main title is confusing, with inconsistencies in the timeline and sequence of events.
How’s the Art?
Christian Rosado’s art suits the story perfectly. It’s creepy, dark, shadowy, and dramatic, enhancing the gothic nature of the narrative. Rosado’s presentation complements the storyline much better than the main title’s art.

VAMPIRELLA/DRACULA: RAGE #6 concludes the miniseries on a strong note with a compelling cliffhanger leading into the main title. The revelation of Dracula’s manipulations adds depth to the narrative, and the art is atmospheric and fitting. However, the unnecessary complications in the story and the confusing alignment with the main title detract from its overall quality.
