Is THE LAST MAGICIAN (VOL. 1) Good?
This volume regales readers with the story of a young man named Chris Keystone, descended to become the last magic wielder. Chris’s father, a powerful magician, is killed in the line of duty, leaving Chris to figure out his path in life. Five years later, Chris feels the pull of destiny, eventually being drawn to a mausoleum in a cemetery where he is bestowed with magical powers.
Chris learns he comes from a long line of magicians and is the last magician prophesied to bring balance to the world. He faces challenges including demonic threats, shadowy figures, and curses. As Chris battles Shadow Demons, his friend Jetta is possessed, adding an extra layer of conflict. With the help of his uncle, Chris learns about the master summoning the demons, who turns out to be his uncle, Mayor Lock. Chris defeats Mayor Lock, saving his friends and restoring balance.

Thien Uncage’s art brings the magical battles to life, providing plenty of spectacle and excitement. The story, while familiar in some aspects, still offers engaging twists and turns, keeping readers hooked.
