Is It Good?
File SHOW’S END: THE SECOND COMING #3 under the heading “Big Reveals, Big choices.” There isn’t much action or spectacular moments to wow you, but what the issue lacks in spectacle, it makes up for with massive revelations for Loralye and her friends. If you’re looking for a comic that’s not afraid to swing for the fences, this issue’s got you covered.
The high point of this issue is, again, the massive revelations that change everything about the future for Loralye and her friends. We learn a big piece of Loralye’s history, her importance in the grand scheme, and a tease about the choice she must soon make that has far-reaching consequences for the world. Pavel gets in on the act with a well-constructed development of internal conflict when his lesser nature is given the chance to come out through a unique offer from his father. This issue is all about the new information that leads to the key characters getting faced with big decisions that could affect everyone and everything. If that type of dramatic setup floats your boat, you’re in for a treat.
Second to the attention-grabbing revelations, readers are finally given Coper’s backstory, and it’s the stuff of heartbreak and regret. Not only does his flashback build out his character considerably, but it also casts his actions going forward in a new light. Strange as it sounds, this is a writer’s comic where you could just as easily see this material translated into a novel or film script. The focus rests completely on character-driven storytelling, and the results speak volumes.
Likewise, Sadzinski’s art elevates the story through excellent facial acting and the use of perspective to maximize the dramatic impact of every panel. In particular, Sadzinski uses the characters’ eyes to convey emotional reactions to their fullest extent, ensuring you feel something in every scene.

What’s It About?
[SPOILERS AHEAD – Click here if you just want the score without spoilers]
We begin with Loralye as she’s shown a vision of the future through the eye of Aeserott. The future is a wasteland of monsters and destruction, heralding the end of Earth. However, Loralye has the power to select a different path for her life that will change the outcome if she submits to Aeserott’s plans.
Meanwhile, Pavel has a long overdue talk with his caged father. The giant pig man explains he was the one who killed the men in the first issue in retaliation for the bullying they inflicted on Pavel. Now, not only can Pavel feel the kind of power and strength his father posses, but he can be granted the power of others, including Loralye.
We conclude the issue with choices, the hint of consequences, and Copper’s true lies coming to light.
