Is It Good?
SANTOS SISTERS #4 is a solid pick for readers who like superhero comics with an Archie Comics visual style and a CRACKED Magazine sensibility for farce. Gregg & Fake nail the homage to Dan Parent’s style on Archie, and the writing knows how to not take itself too seriously.
If you like your superhero comics with an irreverent twist, Silver Age-styled villains, and just a drop or two of adult humor that’s still SFW, SANTOS SISTERS #4 is a good choice.

What’s It About?

As with all our anthology reviews, we’ll cover each short briefly and what did or didn’t work.
Dude! Where is my car?
A Russian-led carjacking gang is dissatisfied with the quality of their merchandise, so their leader sends the boys to neighboring Las Brisas, kicking off a wave of carjackings on the Santos Sisters’ home turf. Lacking clues or suspects, the Sisters convince their friend Todd to use his new car as bait.
If you’re not familiar with the Santos Sisters, it’s light superhero fun if superhero vigilantes existed in Archie Comics, so it helps not to take the setup too seriously. Dave & Fake’s premise about a new crime gang in town works well enough, and Tood’s new role as bait is ripe for missteps and shenanigans. This is an amusing first chapter of the adventure.
Antz-Man!
Gary meets a shady room in a bar and agrees to escort her back to a motel. When the woman asks Gary to cover himself in honey for some kinky fun, he agrees, but the adult session turns into a ripoff scam. When Gary wakes up, he finds himself covered in Motel ants that give him superhuman strength.
Ants-Man is a weird and wild one-shot about a man who gets turned into a monster after he meets the wrong woman. The setup is relatively tame, considering the adult premise, and when the Santos Sisters get involved, the ending is not what you’d expect. The downside of this short is the stiff dialog which could benefit from more contractions.
President Schmesident… I want a big burger!
The President is in town for a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Las Brisas’s first burger chain, Big Burger. When Bridgette Spinner and her no-good sidekick Fondu, steal the Big Burger, the Santos Sisters swoop in to save the day. No Big Burger makes Ambar hangry. You wouldn’t like Ambar when she’s hangry.
This is an amusing one-shot with plenty of superhero shenanigans, puns aplenty, and a satisfying ending.
