Is ROOK: EXODUS #1 Good?

Rook: Exodus #1 is the third of three brand new number ones from Ghost Machine, the new creator-owned imprint headed up by Geoff Johns and other well-known creators. Set in the year 2173, people flee Earth due to ecological disasters, seeking refuge on a new planet called Exodus. Wardens are equipped with helmets that control specific animal species, aiding in terraforming and population control. However, when the world engine, the central AI, fails, chaos ensues. Rook, the main character, scavenges for survival, aiming to escape the dying planet.

As Rook scavenges for parts to build his own spaceship, he encounters a giant bear, a result of the world’s altered conditions. After a confrontation, he returns to his city, knowing time is running out. He connects with another warden named Swine for one last night of camaraderie before attempting their escape. However, an accident leaves Rook unconscious, reflecting on his past. When he awakens, he rushes to find Swine, only to discover his camp under attack by giant bears controlled by a rival warden named Urswa.

The concept of wardens controlling animals with specialized helmets adds a unique twist to the survivalist genre, blending science fiction and primal elements.
