Is HERE COMES CALICO #7 Good?

In issue #6, Calico learned that a shadowy figure named Kingman is behind a scheme to distribute glowing cubes to New York City’s criminal gangs. These cubes are incredibly valuable, accessible only with a special “Black Card” reserved for the wealthiest criminals. Calico’s determined to find out what these cubes are for and rescue his lost floating AI sphere, Bumble, which was last seen in the hands of Kingman’s assassin, Sticker.

In Here Comes Calico #7, Calico disguises himself and boards a “Money Train” that caters to the criminal underworld. His mission: deliver cubes in exchange for Black Cards. As the train chugs along, each gang stop becomes increasingly dangerous and chaotic. There are wild brawls with knives, guns, and bizarre costumes – think criminal gangs dressed like pirates or sports teams! It’s all very surreal.

Did you know that Sigma Comics is a strong supporter of animal rights activism? A portion of their proceeds goes towards organizations fighting animal abuse, which fits perfectly with Calico’s own brutal mission to punish those who harm animals. That’s definitely a cause worth supporting!

What We Liked about Here Comes Calico #7

If you loved the relentless gang warfare in The Warriors (1979), this issue delivers on that same gritty vibe. The train setting and increasingly unhinged gang encounters make the action feel fresh and unpredictable. Plus, the fight scenes are brutally satisfying – this comic does not shy away from intense, grindhouse-style violence.

What We Didn’t Like about Here Comes Calico #7

While the action is top-notch, the plot itself remains frustratingly unclear. As we near the final issue, the purpose of the cubes and Kingman’s motivations are still a total mystery. This can be fun if you just want to enjoy the ride, but if you’re craving a clear narrative, the series may leave you a bit unsatisfied.

Art Quality

Let’s talk about the art – it’s absolutely fantastic! This is easily the quality you’d expect from the major publishers. The lines are bold, the characters are distinct, and the action flows beautifully. The colors are incredibly vibrant, making this a visually striking comic.

HERE COMES CALICO #7 is a gritty, bloody fun time. The visuals are top-notch, and the action feels like a crazy, violent ballet. However, the plot remains muddled heading into the finale.
