Is HAUNTED HOUSE: A LOVE STORY #6 Good?
In the previous issue, the Haunted House series followed the five stages of grief, focusing on depression. A trio of teenagers engaged in vandalism and a makeout session. One of them, in deep depression, considered suicide after a breakup. However, the house intervened at the last minute, preventing tragedy.
Haunted House: A Love Story #6 explores the final stage of grief: acceptance. The house is scheduled for demolition due to condemnation by the city. When The Wrecking Crew arrives, they find two women chained to the front door, believing the house should be saved as a historical landmark. As they endure the cold and snowy weather, they begin to hear voices inside the house, which wants to be put down and move on. The house unleashes hallucinogenic powers on the women, leading them to experience eerie phenomena.
The house’s acceptance of its fate parallels the final stage of grief, offering a unique narrative twist. The use of hallucinogenic powers adds an intriguing element to the story’s supernatural elements.

The ending may feel a bit soft for readers expecting a more climactic finale. The focus on paperwork and positive resolutions may not satisfy those anticipating a more substantial conclusion to the series.
How’s the Art?
Winston Gambro’s art captures the authentic feel of the house, with attention to architectural detail and ambiance. The house’s design reflects its age and history, adding depth to its character.
