Is GUNSLINGER SPAWN #28 Good?
We left Gunslinger Spawn off doing his own thing, ditching the powers-that-be to find his sister’s killer. Now, he bumps into an old pal, Carl, who’s gone full RoboCop thanks to Cliff Truman’s machinations. Problem is, Carl thinks Javi murdered his family and wants revenge.
In GUNSLINGER SPAWN #28, Gunslinger, being the non-confrontational type, tries talking things out. He learns about Carl’s twisted origin story and Truman’s involvement, but the “why” behind Carl’s revenge remains a mystery.
The fight gets heated, but Javi recognizes his limitations. He outsmarts Carl with a unique trick (we won’t spoil it!), leading to a visually stunning climax.
What We Liked In GUNSLINGER SPAWN #28:
- Visuals: The art is the true star here. Dexter Soy delivers detailed, imaginative panels that truly shine.
- Action: The fight scenes are cool and dynamic, with some unexpected twists.
- Supporting Characters: Familiar faces make surprise appearances, adding a fun layer.
What We Didn’t Like GUNSLINGER SPAWN #28:
- Thin Plot: The story feels light. Cool villain, brief fight, cliffhanger to another issue – that’s about it.
- Filler Vibes: This issue seems like a bridge to the Heaven/Hell War finale, leaving Gunslinger’s own arc on hold.
- Missing Depth: Carl’s motivations and backstory are intriguing but incomplete, leaving unanswered questions.
How’s The Art?:
Seriously, Dexter Soy deserves his own applause. The art is phenomenal, detailed, and imaginative. Ivan Nunes’s colors perfectly complement the visuals, making each panel a feast for the eyes. If the story’s a bit light, the art definitely compensates.

GUNSLINGER SPAWN #28 has great visuals, cool action, and interesting concepts to elevate this issue, but the thin plot and lack of depth hold it back. Still, a fun read for Spawn fans and art enthusiasts.
