Is GRIMM FAIRY TALES (VOL. 2) #82 Good?
Previously, we had the Congregation of the Dead scheming to take over Earth by amassing stolen souls for their shadowy army. Skye and Mystere found themselves in a spooky situation when they got captured and brought before the High Council. Mystere was separated from Skye, awaiting her fate, while Skye faced off against a soul-stealing warrior named Ugan for control of her own body. Creepy stuff, right?
Now, onto the main event! In this issue, Skye battles it out with Ugan, while Skye’s body hangs in the balance. Meanwhile, Mystere gets a visit from Ianasa, who drops some truth bombs about the congregation’s plans. Turns out, they’re feeling a bit threatened by the Lovecraftian chaos unfolding and are gearing up for a power play to protect humanity, whether humanity likes it or not. Things take a wild turn when Ianasa intervenes in Skye and Ugan’s fight, resulting in a soul-swapping showdown that leaves everyone feeling a bit uncomfortable.
One interesting tidbit here is how this story ties back into the broader Zenescope universe, especially with its connection to the events of the “Year of Lovecraft.” It adds a layer of cohesion to the series, making it feel like a natural progression rather than a random tangent.

What did we like about GRIMM FAIRY TALES (VOL. 2) #82?
There’s plenty to enjoy in this issue, from the action-packed scenes to the intriguing developments in the overarching storyline. Plus, the tie-in to the larger Zenescope universe adds depth and complexity to the narrative.
What didn’t we like about GRIMM FAIRY TALES (VOL. 2) #82?
However, we can’t ignore the uncomfortable vibes surrounding the body autonomy themes in this issue. The whole “no means no” dynamic between Skye and Ugan feels unsettling, and the subsequent soul-swapping shenanigans only add to the awkwardness.
How’s the Art?
In terms of art, Babisu Kourtis delivers some solid visuals, with cleaner lines and improved character designs. The action sequences are dynamic, and while there are still some rough spots, overall, it’s a step up from previous installments.
