Synopsis of this comic:

  1. Meat Hook: Introduces a character akin to Marvel’s Wolverine, with claws and an accelerated healing factor. He rescues a girl from drug dealers but faces scrutiny from law enforcement for his vigilantism.
  2. Rez: Follows Jonathan Reznik, who houses the souls of his past lives, showcasing his abilities during a convenience store robbery.

What did we like about FWACATA #1?

The anthology format allows for varied storytelling, introducing intriguing characters and settings. Despite its indie origins, the comic offers complete narratives and sets a solid foundation for potential future stories.

What didn’t we like about FWACATA #1?

While the stories are complete, the artwork lacks refinement, appearing rough at times. Dialogue occasionally feels stiff, and inconsistencies in language, particularly the waffling between English and Spanish, presentation detract from immersion.

How’s the Art?

The artwork, while basic, serves its purpose in conveying the narratives. However, there’s room for improvement in terms of detail and finesse, especially in action sequences.
