Is DEAD KINGDOM (VOL. 2) #4 Good?
Issue #3 gave us a flashback revealing Alice’s lineage, where she’s discovered to be a descendant of enslaved elves in an ancient mystical kingdom. These elves drew power from blue crystals while being oppressed in mines. A rebel leader emerged, harnessing the power of a red crystal to stage an uprising, but was ultimately defeated and banished to an alternate dimension. However, it’s now apparent that this threat isn’t entirely contained.
In DEAD KINGDOM (VOL. 2) #4, Alice finishes recounting her family’s history, realizing it’s not just a tale but truth. As she journeys with Kain and company back to The Citadel, they encounter an undead army. They devise a plan to blow up a bridge to halt the army’s advance, but casualties occur, and the threat of more creatures looms. Despite their victory, the sinister figure known as The Plague still poses a threat, and the future remains uncertain.
For context, the flashback in Issue #3 provided crucial backstory, enriching the narrative and expanding the world-building of “Dead Kingdom.”
