Is CREEPSHOW: WOLVERTON STATION (ONE-SHOT) Good?
Ah, the charm of Creep Show – a series known for its spine-chilling tales. However, this time, our story is a standalone, deviating from the traditional anthology format. Our main character, Saunders, a memorabilia collector, sets the stage for a unique horror experience as a movie memorabilia collector with a reputation for cheating his clients.
Saunders receives a tip about a rare and priceless item – the wolf-headed cane from the original Universal Pictures Wolfman film. Excited, he heads to England, only to encounter a mass transit strike and, to his surprise, werewolves running rampant. As he navigates through the chaos, a twist awaits him at the destination: a setup orchestrated by his own contact, Sol.
What we liked about Creepshow: Wolverton Station: The werewolves, the blood, the gore – they steal the spotlight and create a surreal atmosphere. The pervasive fever dream experience as Saunders maneuvers through train stations, streets, and pubs adds a unique touch. The visual elements really sell the story.
What we didn’t like about Creepshow: Wolverton Station: But, and there’s always a but, what didn’t quite land for us was Saunders’ nonchalant reaction to encountering werewolves. It’s as if he stepped into a world where everyone is a werewolf, but he doesn’t bat an eye until they turn their attention towards him. The lack of setup and explanation leaves a peculiar gap, preventing full immersion into the narrative.
Art Quality: Michael Walsh delivers where it matters. The werewolves look menacing and predatory, capturing the essence of classic horror monsters. Despite some light details in backgrounds and lines, the core element – the terror-inducing werewolves – is executed with finesse.

CREEPSHOW: WOLVERTON STATION (ONE-SHOT) offers an okay story with the appeal of werewolves and a satisfying twist for the classic American jerk character. However, the narrative stumbles due to a lack of setup, and the art, while strong in the werewolf department, could use refinement in backgrounds and details.
