Is CREEPSHOW (VOL. 2) #4 Good?

The bread and butter of Creepshow anthologies are tales about bad people getting their comeuppance in deliciously subversive ways. CREEPSHOW (VOL. 2) #4 spreads an extra dollop of butter with two
tales about people in relatably irritating situations that turn twisted and put the naughty people where they belong.

Of the two shorts, Killer Cart Corral delivers the most satisfying schadenfreude for your reading enjoyment. That said, both tales have wicked twists for your reading enjoyment in an issue that’s well worth the cover price.

What’s CREEPSHOW (VOL. 2) #4 About?

All anthology reviews cover each short in brief and what did or didn’t work.

Killer Car Corral

Billy accompanies his mother to a Big Box Store for a little shopping. His mother thinks Billy is a good boy, but his malicious misbehavior catches the attention of the store’s manager, who doesn’t take kindly to nasty boys who don’t put the cart back where it belongs.

Nobody likes a punk kid. Therefore, this short will give you a warm feeling in your tum-tum-tummy when the misbehaving brat gets exactly what he deserves. Come to see the most gruesome parking lot cart attendant around, and stay for the gory aftermath.

The Amulet

Professor Alvina Madigan is committed to an elderly care facility by her neglectful daughter, a facility with a reputation for unsanitary conditions and abusive staff. However, Professor Madigan has a special amulet that grants her special abilities she intends to put to good use.

Alisa Kwitney’s tale of eldercare woe hits the nail on the head for anyone with anxieties about caring for their parents or being cared for when they grow too old to care for themselves. That said, the pacing drags in the middle of the short with a LOT of narration, and the ending lacks punch.

CREEPSHOW (VOL. 2) #4 is another fine issue in the anthology series to show you naughty people getting their deliciously twisted just desserts. Of the two shorts, Nick Dragotta’s tale about a bratty boy earns our top marks for reading entertainment, but both tales have something to offer for horror comic fans everywhere.

Score: 8/10
