Is CREEPSHOW (VOL 2) #2 Good?

CREEPSHOW (VOL 2) #2 There’s a creepy Anthology that improves significantly over issue number one. The two tales both have an ironic twist and plenty of creep factor to give you a little chill on a dark and stormy night.

This is one of those rare examples where an anthology has two stories with significantly different art styles and relatively different story themes, but each short is strong in its own way, and neither short is superior to the other. As a whole, this is a fun horror read and the kind of anthology you’re looking for out of a Creepshow series. We sincerely hope that image continues to Trend and gives us more stories like this in the future.

What’s CREEPSHOW (VOL 2) #2 About?

[SPOILERS AHEAD – Click here if you just want the score without spoilers]

As with all our anthology reviews, we cover each short in brief and what did or didn’t work.

Keep It Down

Amy Blavatsky receives the family gift, or curse, of being able to hear the dead, day and night. But when Amy tries to get a good night’s sleep, she finds that the Restless Dead remain forever restless, and they just won’t stop talking. Amy goes to extremes to drown out the noise and get a good night’s sleep, but she misses out on a very important warning about her snoring and how it affects somebody else trying to get a good night’s sleep.

Dan Watters’s tale about a medium with a gift that keeps on giving is equal parts horror, amusement, and irony. It takes a special person to be able to weed out the noise to get to what matters, so it’s very relatable to have a story about a woman who can’t hear past the noise that never stops. The ironic twist is made all the more amusing when a certain demon pays the woman a visit with unexpected results. The art looks great, and the twist ending gives you plenty to chew on.

The Man With No Eyes

Little Danny only has the television to keep him company after his mother walks out on the family and his father works the late shift. One night a mysterious magician appears on his screen giving Danny the entertainment of his life, but when the magician shows Danny a trick that he can’t escape from, will Danny’s father survive the new family dynamic?

Michael Walsh’s tale of babysitting by television is exactly the kind of story that you want out of a Creepshow anthology. It’s got a cool setup, a relatable scenario between a father, son, and the television, and a horrific twist. The art’s great, the story is great, and the setup is a perfect fit for the Halloween season.
