Was It Good?
Yes, it was a bloody good time.
This is the first Chastity-centric storyline we’ve had the pleasure to review and it did not disappoint.
The story is straightforward, clean, and exciting with just the right amounts of hero moments that have to be earned to keep you rooting for the main character. There’s no easy road in this story for the heroes or the villains, which makes the ending (before the epilogue) completely satisfying.

What’s It About?

Chastity, our half-vampire monster-killing hero, makes a living as a burlesque dancer and struggling actor in NYC. One day, she shows up for an audition with a very off-broadway show. What she and the other actors in the waiting room don’t realize is that the audition is a front for a human trafficking ring. They figured it out after drinking drugged water and waking up on a cargo ship in the middle of the ocean.
Having no choice or privacy, Chastity exposes her vampire side. She rips and tears through every armed guard and ship worker until they get to the last unit and their leader, Ms. Valentine. Despite having a killing machine on the side of the kidnapped women, the numbers begin to overwhelm them. Chastity decides killing Ms. Valentine may weaken the resolve of the remaining guards, but Ms. Valentine swats Chastity away with little effort.
Chastity and the women retreat to a communications room, but they have no other way out and the comms won’t work. As a step of last resort, Chastity grants some of the women her vampire powers to help in the fight. As long as they don’t feed on human blood, the power will wear off in a day or so.
More bloodshed and savagery commences as soon as the communications room door is opened, and the escapees manage to kill everyone left on the ship after it runs aground on Calypso island, the ship’s destination.
Chastity takes a small group onto the island where they learn it’s a restocking station for kidnapped women from all over the world. There, Chastity finds Ms. Valentine again, and we see how she was able to repel Chastity so easily earlier – Valentine and her men are werewolves.
Now, it’s an all-out brawl — vampires against werewolves. Fortunately for our hero, she learns drinking the blood of a werewolf supercharges her powers. With an extra boost, Chastity and her band of temporary vampires put down the group of werewolves and shut down Calypso.
We conclude the issue with history of the island and the dark forces that kept it running.
How Does It End?
The CIA offer their help to Chastity in future “adventures.” Calypso is one island out of many. The leader of a very rich, elite, and powerful pack has Chastity on his radar.
Final Thoughts
CHASTITY: BLOOD & CONSEQUENCES TP is a good, old-fashioned, monster-fighting action comic. The art is great, the story is simple yet exciting, and the conclusion is truly satisfying with just a small hint of things to come.
